This can be done, for example, whenever a deaf attendee needs to communicate with booth exhibitors, ask questions about the products presented there, or speak with representatives from one of the countless employment agencies specialized in people with disabilities that will be present at the event.

Available for iOS and Android systems, ICOM can also be accessed through terminals set up at AME's booth at the event, so that visitors can have a guided experience using this important inclusion resource there. The partnership also extends to the entire Reatech website, which offers the option of customer service in LIBRAS for visitors. And, to celebrate this important collaboration, in this edition, AME and ICOM are also promoting an unprecedented cultural event in Brazil—produced by deaf people and intended for the deaf—offering many attractions for the general public.

ICOM is currently the market’s leading tool for private companies and public agencies to communicate with deaf employees and consumers in their own language. Aligned with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices, it was developed to ensure barrier-free communication, recognizing the potential of deaf individuals and the positive impact of including these Brazilians in society and the marketplace. According to the 2010 Census, of the approximately 45.6 million people with disabilities in the country, nearly 10 million report having some degree of hearing impairment. And within this population, 10% identify as deaf, comprising a segment that is in great need of communication support.

How does ICOM work

Developed by AME, an organization that has been working for 40 years to promote inclusion, ICOM serves this exact group. In a 24-hour call center, professional interpreters certified in LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) translate in real-time from LIBRAS to spoken Portuguese and vice versa. Operation is simple: the more than 60 interpreters answer video calls made over the internet or via the app, ensuring online communication between companies and consumers or among co-workers themselves.

ICOM has been transforming how companies interact with their customers and employees. In the last month alone, the call center recorded 700 hours of usage for its more than 20 clients, with a monthly average of nearly 500 support sessions. The ease of adopting the technology also contributes to its dissemination. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the system offers multiple access channels via website, telephone, mobile app, or even a physical location, making it possible to adapt and customize service scripts according to the different needs of companies.

With the application installed on their smartphone, the deaf person gains independence and autonomy to communicate in any situation, at any time of day or night. The service also offers scheduling functions, to pre-book a translation session, and event management to ensure fluid communication in work meetings, lectures, and exhibitions, whether in person or online. In addition, AME provides comprehensive training for the teams that will operate the tool, including the possibility of creating specific LIBRAS signs for the brand or company in question. It is a simple, efficient, and low-cost solution whose transformative potential for people and companies decisively contributes to the promotion of diversity with inclusion in corporate environments.

[5
46,45,47
post-10709","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-noticias","tag-ame","tag-icom","tag-libras
["GET
