International Fair for Inclusion, Accessibility and Rehabilitation event will feature two mouth painters<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

S\u00e3o Paulo, September 2023<\/b> \u2013 \u201cInspiring Stories\u201d will be one of the attractions at Reatech \u2013 International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and a stage for the audience to follow and participate in the incredible stories of artists who paint with their mouths or feet. Eliana Zagui and Gon\u00e7alo Borges are two multi-artists with disabilities who cannot rely on their arms to execute their dreams, desires, and artistic expressions on canvas. They will be there on October 4, at 1:30 PM, at the Reatech 2023 Congress<\/span>, <\/b>a meeting to expose and debate transformations and best practices in policies, actions, and methods for the inclusion, accessibility, and rehabilitation of people with disabilities in the corporate market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Reatech 2023 Congress is curated by<\/span> Blue Ocean Events Business and Consolidar Diversidade nos Neg\u00f3cios, with production by Fiera Milano Brasil.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to painting with her mouth, Eliana Zagui is a writer and public speaker. A victim of polio, which she contracted as a baby and left her paralyzed from the neck down, she became nationally known after releasing the book \u201cSteel Lung,\u201d which she also wrote with her mouth. The work, released in 2012, inspired the play \u201cLili's Waltz\u201d by playwright Aimar Labaki, starring D\u00e9bora Duboc.<\/span><\/p>\n

The book's title is a reference to the device where people who had difficulty breathing due to a lack of muscle or diaphragm control were placed. Except that in Eliana's case, the iron lung did not work, and she had to undergo a tracheostomy and be hooked up to machines to breathe.<\/span><\/p>\n

After living for 45 years in the ICU of the Hospital das Cl\u00ednicas in S\u00e3o Paulo, Eliana lives in Sumar\u00e9 (SP), paints pictures, and gives lectures, in addition to preparing her second book, this time about leaving the HC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eliana's colleague at the 2023 Reatech Congress, Gon\u00e7alo Borges has been a painter since the age of nine and has been a member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists for 52 years, which represents approximately 800 artists in 75 countries around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Born without arms, Borges has a degree in social communication and a postgraduate degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts. He has been an entrepreneur, managed more than 200 employees in a visual communication company, but states that his true passion is art.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using both his mouth and his feet, he uses various painting techniques, including on ceramics. With so many skills, Borges is also a drawing and painting teacher.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe took great care in choosing the panelists for this Congress. They are people who are references in what they do and have a great interest in \u2018flipping the switch\u2019 in companies so that they have a more inclusive culture. Many companies are in the country just complying with the quota law, in a relationship where they hire professionals for their disability, not for the person themselves. So I would say that the speakers\u201d stories are unmissable and have a lot to tell us,\" defines Marcelo Pires, <\/span>CEO of Consolidar Diversidade nos Neg\u00f3cios.<\/span><\/p>\n
