The classes aim to expand the possibilities of personal interaction between people with and without hearing impairment through the Brazilian Sign Language<\/p>\n

The State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is opening registration for the distance learning (EaD) course in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language). The course, which is completely free of charge, is being offered throughout the state of S\u00e3o Paulo in order to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

To expand the autonomy of the audience with disabilities, the content aims to empower the user for communication through Libras, in order to include people with hearing impairments who use this language for communication.<\/p>\n

In partnership with the Technology and Innovation Center (CTI), the Secretariat is holding the course online today due to the new coronavirus pandemic. Enrolled students will be able to access the content and classes and, upon completing the course, will receive a certificate of completion.<\/p>\n

Importance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, almost 500 thousand people with hearing impairments live in the state of S\u00e3o Paulo, according to the Database for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Thinking about facilitating understanding for everyone and improving communication between people with and without this disability, the Secretariat is carrying out in a\u00a0free<\/strong>\u00a0the Libras Course, which in 2020 trained over 500 people in various regions of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n
