Adaptations allow, for example, wheelchair users to access the car without difficulty. The main rehabilitation, inclusion, and accessibility technology fair will take place in September in São Paulo.
São Paulo, August 2022 – Cavenaghi, one of the pioneers in the Brazilian accessible vehicles market, will be at 17th Reatech – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility. The company will use the occasion to demonstrate products that, due to the recent turbulent years, have not yet been seen at events.
One of them is the accessible Jeep Commander, which, compared to the original vehicle, features special lighting and a lightweight, ergonomic ramp. “This is the first luxury vehicle adapted for wheelchair users in Latin America, which implies a more sophisticated finish and operation,” says Monica Lupatin, the company’s commercial director.
In addition to the Commander and the Chevrolet Spin – which will also be at the event – Cavenaghi sells adapted models from Fiat (Doblo) and Renault (Duster). The pandemic drove a strategy shift: whereas the company used to transform cars purchased by customers at other establishments, today it acquires the used vehicles itself, applies the adaptations, and sells them – with a warranty and ready documentation.
“That way, we managed to catch a ride during a period of growth in the used car market. And the strategy has been so successful that, even with the return to ‘normality,’ it is here to stay,” says Monica.
This is yet another convenience offered to consumers who, amidst so many options available on the market, face difficulties when choosing the ideal model for their routine and needs. According to the director, aspects such as door width, seat height, easy reach of controls (such as cruise control), and trunk dimensions are some of the fundamental elements—and what makes a test drive so important.
In addition to vehicles, Cavenaghi will also exhibit its therapeutic line solutions, such as walkers and postural stabilizers, as well as an adapted stroller with a remote control that allows the family to assist in steering. This product relates to a new trend of putting children with disabilities in motion and in contact with accessibility equipment from an early age, favoring their development.
“Assistive technology profoundly impacts an individual's life and happiness, as it grants them autonomy and quality of life, increasing their self-esteem and elevating them to another level. It is not always a small investment, and for this reason, it is important that it be acquired safely and with the guidance of specialists,” points out Monica.
Specialized content and products
Reatech is the industry leader in Latin America and hosts employment agencies specializing in people with disabilities and reduced mobility, as well as segments such as trained animals, adapted vehicles, hearing aid manufacturers, special equipment, hospital supplies, prosthetics and orthotics, and alternative therapies. “The event plays a role in promoting inclusion and accessibility in all spheres of society. It is a showcase for the development of this sector, which is marked by constant updates and innovation; in other words, it is a time to discover new products and trends aimed at people with disabilities and reduced mobility,” says Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, organizer and promoter of Reatech 2022.
Visitors to the fair can also take advantage of the content that will be presented during the four days of the event.
