Reatech 2023 is launched with an eye on the future of the PWD market

With the expectation of gathering about 300 exhibiting brands and 52,000 industry professionals across 35,000 square meters, Reatech 2023 – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion, and Accessibility, already has its dates set. The event, considered the largest and most important of its segment in all of Latin America, will be held from October 4 to 7 at São Paulo Expo. The renewal of the partnership between Fiera Milano Brasil, the fair's organizer, and the event's partners guarantees the holding
which will be the 18th edition.

As in previous years, visitors will find, during the fair, employment agencies aimed at people with disabilities and reduced mobility, financial institutions, wheelchair manufacturers, human resources departments, pharmaceutical industries, industries in the trained animals segment, adapted vehicles, hearing aid manufacturers, special equipment, hospital supplies, personal hygiene, prostheses and orthoses, alternative therapies, tourism, and leisure.

The CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, Maurício Macedo, highlights the importance of the fair as one of the sector's main showcases and a source of updates for visitors. “We are very excited about Reatech, an event that makes a difference in the lives of thousands of people and families living with some type of disability. Therefore, we have already started planning actions with our partners and, soon, we will have news to share,” says Macedo.

This year, the fair will run from Wednesday to Saturday and will take place in one of the new pavilions at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, in order to fully meet the needs of its exhibitors and visitors. There will be four days of events featuring many cultural and social activities, including equine-assisted therapy, test drives of adapted cars, a multi-sport court, and workshops with industry experts.

Professionals and visitors interested in the PWD universe will also have access to an intense content schedule: Pet Course – Animal-Assisted Therapy, Equine Therapy Workshop, Reamed – Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, TecFisio | OT – Seminar on Advanced Technologies in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Reatech Congress on Inclusion and Accessibility in the Labor Market, and Reashow – Exhibitors Seminar.

With the motto “Building the future, transforming the present,” Reatech 2023 will offer a wide range of experiences, such as Equine-Assisted Therapy, coordinated by the National Association of Equine-Assisted Therapy – ANDE – Brazil and the Integrated Working Group – GATI, and will feature six hours of content with lectures given by experts in the field.

At Fazendinha, visitors will find a care space with animals (rabbits, cockatiel, tortoise, dogs, owl, snake), which are used to assist in therapy with children who have learning difficulties or who need rehabilitation. Coordinated by Liana Pires Santos, psychopedagogue and director of the Integrated Working Group GATI, the PET course will cover topics such as animal-assisted therapy; the possibility of therapists working in animal-assisted therapy; the therapeutic power of nature; and the application of Animal-Assisted Treatment – AAT.

Following its success in the 2022 edition, Rádio ONCB will be back with live coverage of the event organized by the National Organization of the Blind of Brazil. Last year, 15 blind and low-vision professionals, including journalists, radio broadcasters, advertising professionals, and audio and video technicians, took turns producing live streams featuring interviews and discussion panels on YouTube.

Congress expands debate on leadership training
Curated by Blue Ocean Events, the Reatech Congress will bring together renowned experts from Brazil and abroad. “The topic of inclusion in the job market still deserves our attention. That is why this year we want to talk more about training leaders,” said Paulo Serra, Innovation Director at Blue Ocean. “The main challenge in promoting the inclusion and accessibility of people with disabilities in the job market is understanding which aspects limit this group. And that limitation does not generally lie in the disabilities they present. Cultural issues and worldviews are essentially what act as barriers in society.”

The Congress will bring together around 80 delegates to discuss The Role of Organizations and Society in Breaking Paradigms Related to the Inclusion of People with Disabilities; Training Leaders to Interact, Involve, Empower, and Engage People with Disabilities or in Rehabilitation; How Leadership Fosters the Promotion of a Culture that Favors Integration, Empathy, and Diversity, among others.
