Automakers Renault, Honda, and Mercedes-Benz are showcasing vehicles with exemptions from the Industrialized Products Tax (IPI) and the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) at the 19th edition of Reatech. The brands offer customized adaptations according to the customer's needs.
Mercedes is launching the 2024/2025 Sprinter at the trade fair with safety innovations, featuring new electronic items such as information on the multimedia system regarding the vehicle system, inclination when parking, among other interactive features. “The vehicle is also ready for the adaptations made by our partner Van Partner,” explains Luiz Felipe Satovia, implementation consultant for the automaker.
The Sprinter on display at Reatech is equipped with a wheelchair lift and extra seats in the back for companions. Satovia reminds that it is also possible to make adaptations for driving by people with disabilities, such as an accelerator and clutch on the steering wheel.
Renault’s main highlight during the event, which began this Wednesday (20), is the Kardian compact SUV, which is exempt from IPI and ICMS taxes. The model, which starts at R$ 93,500 (market prices range from R$ 106,990 to R$ 138,990), comes fully equipped, according to Maria do Socorro, a sales consultant for the brand.
Produced in São José dos Pinhais, in Paraná, the Kardian is the first national vehicle to use the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP) and marks the debut of the brand's new visual identity. “As for the adaptations, they are made according to each customer's need and we deliver the vehicle with these modifications,” says Maria, noting that the changes are paid for separately.
The Kardian offers a 1.0 turbo flex engine, capable of delivering 125 hp of power and 220 Nm of torque, with two transmission options: manual or dual-clutch automated. Both have six speeds. In addition, it comes with a reverse sensor and a multimedia system as standard equipment.
Meanwhile, Honda is presenting the 2025 lineup for the City family at Reatech. The company's entry-level models, available in hatch and sedan body styles, now feature a new look along with exemptions from IPI and ICMS taxes for people with disabilities. According to Rodrigo Paixão, sales promoter at AR Motors, in addition to the redesign and change in direction, the City line has also gained some extra equipment. “Meanwhile, the adaptations requested by customers are carried out by partner companies, such as Cavenaghi, and charged separately.”
The City Sedan model, on display at the auto show, costs R$ 104,600 after taxes. It retails for R$ 117,500.
Wireless smartphone charger is another item present in the new console on the EX, EXL, and Touring trims. The multimedia center, in turn, offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay also wirelessly. The three versions also have USB ports for power charging: two Type-A ports on the front dashboard and two Type-C ports for the rear seat occupants.
