Digital content creator from Salvador with Down syndrome has more than 1.1 million followers on social media;
Cailana Eduarda Bauer Lemos, better known as Cacai Bauer, is an absolute hit on social media. At 26 years old, the woman from Salvador, Bahia, is considered the first digital influencer with Down syndrome in the world. This Thursday, December 3rd, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the famous personality reached the milestone of 1.1 million followers combined across three social networks (Instagram, TikTok e YouTube).
Who is Cacai Bauer?
Cacai launched herself on the internet after encouragement from her mother, Jana, in February 2016, when she debuted her YouTube channel with a family video. In the production, she refused to hand over her diary to her younger brother, Caio, who wanted to know what was written in it.
Shortly after, Bauer decided to venture into comedy with fun musical parodies. Prior to that, the content creator had already studied theater and even performed on stage with an audience.

With over 272,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, the digital influencer presents a vast array of creative content. Among her productions, for example, are tip videos and Q&A sessions lightly inspired by Supernanny. In addition, there are choreographies, jokes, and daily vlogs.
For all this production, Cacai counts on the help of her whole family (mother, father, and siblings). “My mother does makeup, hair, and costumes. My sister, Luiza, is the voice of the parodies. My dad takes care of communication and graphic arts. And my brother, Caio, is the supporting actor,” she joked in an interview with UOL.
On her social media, Cacai has already stated that her fans are special people just like her. “Everyone is beautiful and special just like me.”.
Down Syndrome Awareness
Cacai Bauer has been highlighting the issue of society's awareness about Down syndrome on her social media. The star used TikTok, for example, to criticize how people view those with Down syndrome, emphasizing the issue of infantilization.
For the content creator, it is important that society begins to see adults with Down syndrome as the adults they are. In the video, she appears wearing children's clothing and holding a doll. Within seconds, she transforms into an adult woman with a styled look and striking lipstick.
