With 18 hours of programming between November 20 and 21, ADD brings wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball experiences to the fair's visitors
São Paulo, November 2024 – Since the first edition, the multi-sport court is another confirmed attraction at this year's Reatech, which will also host the Paralympic Brazil Expo, from November 20 to 23, at the São Paulo Expo, in the capital of São Paulo. Managed by ADD (Sports Association for the Disabled) during the first two days, the schedule features track and field, boccia, wheelchair basketball (5x5 and 3x3), soccer, and sitting volleyball.
“We introduced and were responsible for initiating the entire sports segment of the fair, bringing more activity and entertainment. Over the years, we have noticed a significant evolution in the visitor profile, with doors opening for children to participate. We have attracted a large audience, including companies and schools, to experience and interact with the spaces. For us, it is always a period of intense activity, full of programming, highlights Eliane Miada, founder and chair of the board of ADD.
The 19th edition of Reatech + Expo Brasil Paralímpico brings something new: the arena will be managed on a shared basis, which brings challenges and adaptations. Over the two days under ADD's management, totaling 18 hours of activities, the commitment is to maintain the tradition of a dynamic, nonstop schedule. “Even with the reduction in operating time, we will maintain the essence of our activities with a full agenda,” reinforces the president.
Among the new features, Miada highlights the holding of the children's parasports games, a traditional milestone of the arena. “We will have more than 160 children participating in the opening of the games on the 20th,” she says. On the 21st, the schedule will be aimed at invited companies which, together with their employees and suppliers. “These corporate tournaments are expected to attract large companies and, depending on the flow of the fair, we can open the space for public interaction,” Miada anticipates.
ADD's participation in Reatech is crucial not only for entertainment, but for strengthening the connection with the public. “This is an extremely important moment, where people who are unfamiliar with our work can have direct contact with the association, sign up for our programs, and clear up questions about Paralympic sports. Reatech has always been a vital meeting point to recruit students and offer openings in our programs,” concludes Miada.
