In its 17th edition, Reatech – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility, opened to the public this Thursday (Sep 1) showcasing the latest in technology for the sector. Featuring 300 exhibiting brands, the event returns after three years, offering visitors and industry professionals a broad schedule of cultural, social, and educational activities over the four days. For 20 years, Reatech has worked to disseminate new projects for people with disabilities, and has thus established itself as the largest event in Latin America.
According to Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, the fair's organizer, it is a pleasure to have “the opportunity to bring to the public, once again, the most innovative in technologies, and to provide exchanges of experiences and information that help in the process of Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion, and Accessibility.” “We reaffirm our purpose of promoting experiences through social and cultural activities and relevant content for all market segments that work on behalf of people with disabilities, making the processes of rehabilitation, inclusion, and accessibility part of the daily lives of everyone involved in this topic,” he stated.
Present at the opening ceremony, Silvia Grecco, Municipal Secretary for the Person with Disabilities, who represented Mayor Ricardo Nunes, [stated that] the event is an important moment to learn about the most modern new products for accessibility. Recalling that she had already participated as a visitor for years, she highlighted the importance of the presence of public authorities. “It is up to the public sphere to guarantee accessibility for everyone, and the city hall works to make us have a truly inclusive São Paulo.”.
Aracélia Costa, São Paulo’s Secretary of State for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, speaking on behalf of Governor Rodrigo Garcia, noted that the state government launched the “Accessible City” program last year, which aims to encourage municipalities in São Paulo to invest in accessibility programs. “In addition, we have also sent equipment to city governments to assist them with these projects. In 2021 alone, approximately R$ 500 million was invested in Cidade Acessível.”.
Reatech brings together companies from various segments such as adapted vehicles, hearing aids, special equipment, hospital supplies, prosthetics and orthotics, alternative therapies, trained animals, employment agencies, tourism, wheelchair manufacturers, pharmaceutical products, among many others.
During the four-day event, the audience can follow the content schedule with professionals working in the market.
