Secretariat offers distance learning courses in Audio Description and Orientation and Mobility

Initiative by the Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities already has Digital Literacy, Typing, Social Media, Assistive Technology, and Libras courses in its network

The Government of São Paulo, through the State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, announces that registration is open for the Introduction to Audio Description and Introduction to Orientation and Mobility courses in the distance learning (EaD) format. Completely free of charge and accessible, the courses are held in partnership with the Technology and Innovation Center (CTI) and the Lucy Montoro Rehabilitation Service – Jardim Humaitá (SRLM Jd. Humaitá).

The offered positions aim to provide and offer knowledge for virtual platforms accessible to people with visual impairments, especially during this pandemic.

The Introduction to Audio Description course aims to contribute to accessibility in the virtual environment and train professionals in the fields of Education and Culture. The Introduction to Orientation and Mobility course, on the other hand, focuses on spreading information and knowledge about the methodology in the rehabilitation process for people with visual impairments. Throughout the study, also with weekly meetings, students will be able to learn about communication, terminologies, concepts and history, accessibility, types of canes, and specific techniques for the field. Distance learning courses for people with disabilities

The State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, aiming at the inclusion and autonomy of persons with disabilities, has been offering, in partnership with the Technology and Innovation Center and the Lucy Montoro Rehabilitation Service – Jardim Humaitá, free digital inclusion courses for persons with disabilities.

With the objective of facilitating and encouraging the presence of this audience on digital platforms, the courses include Digital Literacy, Typing, Social Media, and Assistive Technology—aimed at people with visual impairments. The Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) course is also part of this initiative.
