In the centennial year, the Dorina Foundation will participate in the main parallel events of Reatech 2019

Foundation contributors will participate in Reackathon, Reamed and the Pet Course

São Paulo, June 2019 – Join forces to promote a quality event. The 16th Reatech – International Fair for Technologies in Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility, which begins on Thursday (13) and continues until Sunday (16), has prepared a series of parallel activities, involving subjects such as technology, rehabilitation and accessibility. The Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, a reference in social inclusion projects for the visually impaired, will be involved in some of these activities, reinforcing the team of excellence that will be at the fair.

This year was celebrated the centenary of the founder of the institution, which for more than 70 years has been dedicated to the social inclusion of people with visual impairment. “Our founder, Dorina Nowill, dedicated her life to the cause of the visually impaired. For all of us, keeping your legacy alive is contributing to the inclusion of all people in society, “explains Alexandre Munk, superintendent of the Dorina Foundation.

Master teacher Eliana Cunha will participate in the second day of Reamed, Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Active in the area of ​​visual impairment for 30 years, today he coordinates the area of ​​Inclusive Education of the Dorina Foundation. The teacher will approach Visual Rehabilitation in Low Vision, highlighting concepts, optical, non-optical resources and assistive technologies.

Another collaboration will be in the Pet Course, Animal Assisted Therapy workshop, on June 16. The course, which will discuss man’s interaction with the animal in a formal therapeutic process, will lead Dorina Nowill’s blind advocate, Marcelo Panico, to talk about the importance of interaction with guide dogs in the lecture “There is a lot to be done even without seeing! ”

Also noteworthy for Reackathon, an unprecedented competition in this edition of Reatech, which aims to stimulate innovative initiatives of autonomy with intelligent projects for quality of life and social inclusion. With the theme “Assistive Technology for People with Disabilities and Reduced Mobility”, the Dorina Foundation volunteer, Adenilson Lourenço, will be one of the judges to choose the best solutions to improve public policies for the well-being of society.
