In its 17th edition, the leading Latin American trade fair for rehabilitation, inclusion, and accessibility technologies will bring together more than 300 exhibiting brands from September 1st to 4th
São Paulo, August 2022 – Next Thursday, the 17th edition of the Reatech – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility, at São Paulo Expo. The event, organized by Fiera Milano Brasil, has established itself as the largest meeting point in Latin America for people with disabilities. This year, the expectation is to bring together 300 exhibiting brands from different market segments to present new products and innovations to an expected audience of 52,000 people until Sunday (Sep 4).
The fair hosts employment agencies specialized in people with disabilities and reduced mobility, in addition to segments such as trained animals, adapted vehicles, hearing aid manufacturers, special equipment, hospital supplies, prostheses and orthoses, alternative therapies, tourism and leisure, the pharmaceutical industry, and wheelchair manufacturers, among others.
A opening ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 PM, at the entrance of São Paulo Expo (gate 1). Participating in the ceremony are Aracélia Costa, state secretary of the Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the State of São Paulo; Eliane Miada, founder and board president of the Association of Sports for the Disabled – ADD; Linamara Battistella, full professor of Physiatry and President of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – IMREA; Fernando Vasconcelo Heiderich, president of the MetaSocial Institute; Luanda Collange Grecco, scientific director of the Brazilian Association of Neurofunctional Physical Therapy; Márcio Aguiar, director of the National Organization of the Blind of Brazil – ONCB; Ana Lúcia Varotto, Human Resources coordinator of the Dorina Nowil Foundation for the Blind; Michel Brull, volunteer president of the Board of Directors of the Jô Clemente Institute, among other representatives of the sector.
During the four-day event, the audience can follow the content schedule with professionals working in the market. Highlighted is the Pet Course – Animal-assisted therapy, Equine-Assisted Therapy Workshop, o Reamed – Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Physio Tech | TO – Seminar on Advanced Technologies in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, o Reatech Congress of Inclusion and Accessibility in the Labor Market and Reashow – Expositors' Seminar.

Worldwide, more than 1 billion people currently need assistive technology. To give an idea of the innovation capacity within this market, there are more than 130,000 patent applications related to conventional and emerging assistive technologies between 1998 and 2020, according to a report by the World Intellectual Property Organization of the UN (United Nations).
The inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market is one of the main focuses of Reatech 2022. This is because, according to the latest census by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) from 2010, at least 45 million Brazilians have some form of visual, hearing, or mobility impairment, or some form of intellectual disability. However, only 50% of the job openings designated for these individuals are filled.
