One of the main objectives of the equipment presented during Reatech – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility, which runs until this Sunday (Sep 4) at São Paulo Expo, is to give more independence to wheelchair users. And this is the focus of the Stima, the first electric vehicle developed especially for those who depend on a wheelchair to get around.
With a starting price of R$70 thousand, the model—developed and manufactured by Green Innovation—can carry three people: the driver and two passengers. It is designed to accommodate manual or motorized wheelchairs up to 74 cm wide. It has an external width of 128 cm, an external length of 258 cm, an internal height of 150 cm, an external height of 225 cm (with air conditioning), and an internal width of 105 cm.
According to William Barcelos, from the company’s sales department, two models are available. “The entry-level, basic model comes with one battery, can reach a top speed of 40 km per hour, and has a range of 50 km. The full version, which costs R$ 120,000, comes with four batteries, reaches approximately 100 km per hour, and has a range of 250 km. It takes six hours to fully charge the batteries.”.
Another new product from the company—which was founded in Rio Grande do Sul and is currently based in Santa Catarina—is the Green Cross off-road kit for wheelchairs. With a starting price of R$ 17,000 (if the full set is selected, including the motorized wheelchair, the price rises to over R$ 31,000), the kit features a quick-release coupling and offers wheelchair users great freedom on all types of terrain.
