E-book readers, video magnifiers, and adapted games will be among the products on display
Laramara (Brazilian Association for Assistance to Visually Impaired People) will once again participate in the 19th Reatech (International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion, and Accessibility), which will take place from November 20 to 23 (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
At the Laramara booth, enlarged keyboards, video magnifiers (in mouse or pocket formats), signature guides, sorobans, talking clocks, folding canes, arm blood pressure monitors, body thermometers, and adapted games, among other items, will be on display.
Visitors will also be able to discover pedagogical products that assist in children's learning, developed by the Bricanto Resource Center, such as Alphaimã, which helps recognize different types of shapes, sizes, weight, and material; Brailito, which encourages the recognition of shape, size, weight, consistency, and material; and Frutíferas, which promote the handling of figures of
trees, helping to differentiate sizes and types of fruit.
For those who wish to delve deeper into the themes, publications such as “Brincar Para Todos,” “Caminhando Juntos,” “Deficiência Visual: Refletindo sobre a Prática Pedagógica,” and other editions released by Laramara will be for sale.
“Our mission is to seek out the most innovative and accessible assistive technologies that can help children, youth, adults, and the elderly with visual and other impairments, promoting their independence and autonomy in all spheres of life and ensuring they feel fully included in society,” states Robert Mortimer, coordinator of Laratec.

About Laramara
Laramara (Brazilian Association for Assistance of the Visually Impaired)
promotes the comprehensive development of people with visual impairments, through
direct services and advisory actions, aiming at autonomy and inclusion
social. Throughout its history, the association has already helped more than 12,000 families through
through its programs, external training, and donations, achieving an average of,
3,500 monthly consultations.
Motivated by the educational experience with their youngest daughter, who lost her sight
due to retinopathy of prematurity, the couple Victor and Mara Siaulys founded the
institution to become a reference center in research on visual impairment and
to offer services aligned with social demands, adopting a management
cross-sector, shared, coordinated and coherent. The institution relies on the work
of 107 professionals and 30 volunteers, it occupies an area of over 8,000 m² and benefits
directly about 1,200 to 1,500 people each year.
