Drivers will be able to appeal fines for violating São Paulo's new vehicle rationing system in cases of medical emergencies, the city hall reported this Thursday (14). This Thursday, the city administration also announced the exemption from the new license plate rotation scheme for pregnant women and patients undergoing debilitating treatment for a severe illness. Also included in the exempt group are garbage and solid waste collection vehicles, urban cleaning vehicles, and armed escort vehicles duly authorized by the Federal Police, in addition to vehicles for the maintenance of essential services. Patients undergoing debilitating disease treatment should click on the area “Vehicle Rotation – Exemption for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)”, where there is a registration option for people undergoing treatment for serious illnesses.
