Responsible for more than 900,000 visits per year and the provision of support and inclusion services, at practically no direct cost to patients, Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos, AACD, Instituto Jô Clemente (formerly APAE DE SÃO PAULO) and Derdic are signing an unprecedented partnership. Operating alongside people with visual, physical, hearing and intellectual disabilities, the four organizations have already suffered revenue reductions in these first months of the crisis resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. With the aim of raising awareness and helping with fundraising, so that they can continue in full operation at this very difficult time, the institutions are launching a landing page that highlights their common purpose: support, health, education and well-being for people with some type of disability. Through this page, people can learn more about the work of each organization and can effectively support them through donations. To expand the reach of this partnership, the “Ponto em Comum” campaign is also launching. It was created by Lew’Lara\TBWA, a partner agency of the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, which took the initiative to seek out and bring together the other organizations for this effort. It is important to note that, according to data from the World Health Organization, approximately 10% of the population has some form of disability. In Brazil, approximately 45.6 million people have some form of disability, equivalent to about 23.9% of the country’s population—according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
“We are guided by the legacy of Dona Dorina, the Lady of Inclusion, who dedicated her life to the cause of people with disabilities, gaining national and international recognition. Following our founder's purpose, we recognize that this is a moment of union among four benchmark organizations in the care of people with disabilities.“says Alexandre Munck, executive superintendent of the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind. And he adds:“together, we will strengthen our cause and enable more people to have access to autonomy and inclusion“.

Services during pandemic times
Together, the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, AACD, Jô Clemente Institute, and Derdic provide nearly 900,000 services per year at almost no direct cost, with work that includes habilitation, rehabilitation, therapies, surgeries, early childhood education, elementary education, and even professional inclusion courses for the job market. During this pandemic period, the four organizations have adapted to continue their work, providing greater protection and respecting social distancing. Among the implemented solutions are telemedicine services, such as producing videos with activities that can be done at home, telephone consultations, pedagogical guidance via WhatsApp, and universal newborn hearing screenings using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to protect professionals.

There is a point that connects the four institutions. It is the same point that unites everyone today: helping one another. The point is that, to continue helping those in need, they need help. A common point, connect the dots and perform an act of love and solidarity. The strong point of this campaign is you, who donate and help.
Created by Lew’Lara\TBWA, at the initiative of the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, the union of the institutions gets a film to communicate and call upon the population to earn a few extra points by helping those in need. Broadcasted on the institutions' digital channels, the communication gets a webpage to centralize donations and allow people to choose which institution they wish to donate to. The landing page todoporum.org.br is now available for everyone to be another point of support for people with disabilities.

About AACD
Founded in 1950, AACD has a complete infrastructure dedicated to the rehabilitation and habilitation of people with physical disabilities and orthopedic needs – consisting of an orthopedic hospital, nine rehabilitation units, and five workshops for the manufacturing of orthopedic products. In 2019, it performed over 880,000 specialized consultations for patients of all ages, through the SUS (Unified Health System), private pay, and health insurance, delivered 61,000 orthopedic products, and performed around 7,500 orthopedic surgeries. About the Jô Clemente Institute
The Jô Clemente Institute (formerly APAE DE SÃO PAULO) is a non-profit Civil Society Organization that for over 59 years has been preventing and promoting the health of people with intellectual disabilities, in addition to supporting their social inclusion and the defense of their rights, producing and disseminating knowledge. It operates from birth to the aging process, fostering the development of skills and potentials that favor education and supported employment, besides offering legal advice to families regarding the rights of people with intellectual disabilities. A pioneer in the Newborn Screening test (Guthrie test) in Brazil and accredited by the Ministry of Health as a Reference Service in Neonatal Screening, the Jô Clemente Institute Laboratory is the largest in Brazil in terms of the number of tests performed. About Derdic
With over 65 years of history, Derdic is a non-profit organization that offers early childhood and elementary education to deaf children and adolescents, as well as clinical care, through an agreement with the SUS (Unified Health System), for people with hearing, voice, orofacial motor, and language disorders, as well as intellectual disabilities. It works on accessibility consulting for deaf individuals, expanding access to Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) through courses and videos, promoting the inclusion of deaf people in the job market, and conducting research.
