The 9th Olga Kos Inclusion Run and Walk, which has been held since 2015 and is part of SP's traditional street running calendar, is scheduled for March 19 at 7:00 AM. The race takes place at the Ibirapuera Obelisk in distances of 6.1 km and 10 km, and is held in celebration of International Down Syndrome Day, observed on the 21st of the same month.
Just like in the other events by the Instituto Olga Kos, the kit pickup will take place on a date chosen by the athlete at the time of registration, thus avoiding crowds. The pickup will take place between March 15 and 18 at Shopping West Plaza, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., located at Avenida Francisco Matarazzo, s/n – Água Branca, São Paulo – SP, 05003-020.
In the view of Crystiane Souza, Sports Coordinator at the Olga Institute, progress toward inclusion is demonstrated through the realization of each of these stages. “With each edition, we manage to reach a greater number of runners, all for the same cause: the inclusion of people with disabilities. We hope to achieve the same success as previous races in March and take our cause further and further.”.
To register as a PWD (Person with Disability), it is mandatory to send an email to the event's organizing company at corrida@institutoolgakos.org.br, accompanied by a medical report or supporting document of this condition. Upon receipt, analysis, and approval of the documents, the organizing company will send a coupon via email so that the athlete can complete their registration.
Created in 2007, the Olga Institute has the mission of promoting access to culture and sports for people with disabilities and in situations of social vulnerability in São Paulo. Following the success of the 8th Inclusão a Toda Prova, which took place in December 2022 and had 18,000 participants, the institute is organizing the ninth edition of the Run and Walk for Inclusion.
