Reatech 2019 will present new accessibility solutions, sports attractions and an adapted house with guided tours

The leading industry fair in Latin America is in its 16th edition and expects to receive 52,000 visitors over the four-day event.

São Paulo, June 2019 – A 16th Reatech – International Fair of Technologies inRehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility,which will open on June 13th and runs until Sunday at São Paulo Expo, brings many new products and innovations from the orthoses, prostheses, and special materials (OPME) sector. Thanks to technological evolution and the increasing focus on social responsibility, the sector is growing. During the event, professionals and visiting members of the public will have the opportunity to learn about the advances and challenges of this market through workshops and lectures with experts from various fields, as well as in the exhibition area, which will bring together 300 exhibiting brands.

Organized by Cipa Fiera Milano, Reatech is the leading trade show in the sector in Latin America and is expected to welcome 52,000 visitors over the four days of the event.

The demand for orthoses, prostheses, and special materials (OPME) has led to the emergence of more competition in the sector. According to GTT Healthcare, a company specializing in auto-identification technologies for the healthcare sector, there are currently around 3,600 companies operating in Brazil as manufacturers, importers, and distributors.

Concept House: visitors will learn about the difficulties of those with reduced mobility

During the four-day event, visitors will be able to explore in detail a house adapted for people with reduced mobility. Conceived by Direct Borrachas, the house will be at the company's booth and will offer guided tours every day. The idea is to “provoke” participants, instill the importance of accessibility in spaces, and show how indispensable certain equipment can be in changing people's lives.

The space, created by accessibility architect Gabriella Zubelli, consists of six environments and will showcase the potential barriers that people with reduced mobility encounter and their respective adaptations. The visitor will also have the opportunity to experience the spaces in an inclusive and sensorial way. Blindfolded or in a wheelchair, the person will be guided through the house, having the experience of feeling the difficulties encountered by those with some type of disability.

ADD Space – Arena Sports will feature 32 hours of uninterrupted activities and invites world-record-holding Paralympic athletes

To show the work of Sports Association for the Disabled (ADD),A multi-sport court will be installed in the Reatech pavilion, and visitors will be able to participate in the activities. These will be amateur championships to encourage closer, more human contact with the reality of sports for people with disabilities.

Without breaks, there will be 32 hours of activities over the days of the fair, with a varied schedule. In addition to public participation, professional Wheelchair Basketball and Sitting Volleyball tournaments will take place. The tournaments will feature athletes from the Brazilian National Team.

Paralympic athletes will also be present at the Arena: track and field medalists from Rio 2016 Alan Fonteles, Odair Silva, Yeltisen Jackes, and Tamiru Damasi, and from basketball, Gelson Junior, Pedro Vieira, Rodrigo Arão, Glebe Candido, Amauri Viana, and Nilton Pessoa. Paralympic swimmer and world record holder Daniel Dias has also confirmed his attendance.

KIT LIVRE – Disabled sports equipment company will promote RadCross championship with obstacles for amateurs and professionals

A competition to encourage challenges and find potential athletes. The RadCross wheelchair championship will be held during Reatech, in a space organized by the company FREE,specialized in assistive equipment.

RadCross is a sport similar to Bike Trial, with the difference that it is done with wheelchairs. The championship is sponsored by Kit Livre, a motorized equipment that has the function of transforming a wheelchair into a Motorized Electric Tricycle.

During the circuit, the competition will always be between two participants. The one with the best time wins. The proposal is to stimulate the perspective of the goal the competitor wants to reach. There will be two amateur tournaments and one professional. Registration is open only for the amateur tournaments by here. Parallel Activities

Pet Course and Equine-Assisted Therapy Workshop – new developments in the treatment of people with disabilities using animals

Studies of American Journal of Cardiology, from the USA, showed that living with animals helps control stress, lowers blood pressure, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular problems. It is along these lines that the Equine Therapy workshop and the Pet Therapy Course will offer 100 spots each, for professionals who want to expand their knowledge in a revolutionary field. Professionals will present new developments in the legislation on equine therapy, recognized by the Federal Council of Medicine. Meanwhile, the Pet Therapy Course is introductory and incorporates human-animal interaction into a formal therapeutic process, guided by professionals with specific objectives.

Rehackathon seeks innovations for accessibility in large centers

During Reatech, an unprecedented competition, open to developers, designers, and anyone with an innovative idea, will revolutionize the vision of space democratization. A marathon focused on accessibility solutions will be held, featuring certificates of participation, promotion across the event's media channels, and special recognition for the most innovative ones. The intention is to seek proposals that can make a difference in the quality of life of thousands of people around the world.

Seminars and Congresses

Reatech will also provide an opportunity for professionals in the field to expand their portfolios and contribute to discussions on inclusion, health, and technologies related to rehabilitation. Reseem,Rehabilitation and Inclusion Technology Seminar will discuss disruptive technologies enabling communication, movement, and patient rehabilitation outcomes. ReamedCongress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, seeks innovative treatments for pain and efficacy in results. Professionals in the field will discuss advanced techniques for the treatment of injuries in Tecfisio,Seminar on Advanced Technologies in Physical Therapy. TiX Tecnologia Assistiva, a startup based in Minas Gerais that develops digital accessibility and communication solutions for people with mobility and speech impairments, will launch a pioneering accessibility plan, with monthly payments starting at R$165.00. The packages stand out for their customized solutions designed to meet the

needs of each user. The customer contracts accessibility as a service instead of a product, democratizing access and bringing immediate benefit to customers without compromising the family budget. Fair visitors will be able to try out the products at the TiX booth, such as the Smart Keyboard, and sign up for plans on the spot, with no joining fee or lock-in contract.
