Created by the Sports Association for the Disabled, the venue will host parasports championships and feature athletes from the Brazilian national team.
São Paulo, June 2019– The leading trade show in the sector of orthoses, prostheses, and special materials for people with disabilities offers visitors an experience that goes far beyond business with its 300 exhibiting brands. To endorse the growth of this market, the ADD Space – Arena Sports will host nonstop activities throughout the 16th Reatech – International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion, and Accessibility. The project is a partnership between Cipa Fiera Milano, the organizer and promoter of the event, and the Association for Disabled Sports (ADD). The activities take place simultaneously with the fair, from June 13 to 16, at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, in the capital of São Paulo.
The main objective of the space is to showcase ADD's work in an interactive way. “Visitors will be able to participate in amateur championships and have a more personal contact with the reality of sports for people with disabilities. Reatech is the ideal space for the public to learn about and experience parasports, and with 32 hours of activities, all free of charge, everyone will have the opportunity to participate,” says Eliane Miada, president of ADD.
In addition to the public being able to actively participate in the activities, professional Wheelchair Basketball and Sitting Volleyball tournaments will take place. The tournaments will feature athletes from the Brazilian National Team.
Paralympic athletes will also be present at the Arena: track and field medalists from Rio 2016 Alan Fonteles, Odair Silva, Yeltisen Jackes, and Tamiru Damasi, and from basketball, Gelson Junior, Pedro Vieira, Rodrigo Arão, Glebe Candido, Amauri Viana, and Nilton Pessoa. Paralympic swimmer and world record holder Daniel Dias has also confirmed his attendance.
The partnership between ADD and Reatech has been going on for over 12 years, and its great success is due to the volume of visitors specialized in the sector and sports lovers who identify with the attractions. “The fair generates a large demand of people interested in participating in sports activities. For ADD, Reatech is an excellent way to promote our work to audiences with and without disabilities. Bringing world-renowned athletes shows how Paralympic sport is respected and deserves visibility,” concludes Miada.
