Department makes Assistive Technology course available for people with visual impairments

This Tuesday, the 1st, marked the start of the third class of the distance learning (EAD) course ‘Assistive Technology for people with visual impairments,’ offered by the Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities through the Lucy Montoro Humaitá Rehabilitation Service (SRLM Humaitá).

The free and accessible course aims to support the digital and technological inclusion of people with visual impairments by presenting the main available assistive technologies.

With an 8-hour workload, the syllabus covers assistive features on computers, smartphones, and tablets, in addition to working with the Android and iOS operating systems.

The Secretariat's distance learning course aims to collaborate on the inclusion, training, and professionalization of people with disabilities. In addition to assistive technology, slots were also offered for Digital Literacy, Typing, and Social Media.
