Six car manufacturers showcase new products for people with disabilities at Reatech 2019

In addition to the adapted equipment, visitors will also have the opportunity to test drive the displayed vehicles.

São Paulo, June 2019- Maintaining a tradition at the fair for several editions, the major automakers will be at the 16thReatech – International Fair of Technologies in Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility, which starts next Thursday (13) and continues until Sunday (16) at São Paulo Expo. In addition to the new products that will be exhibited by brands such Volkswagen, GM, and Toyota, people will also be able to participate in the test drives that will take place during the four days of the event.

At its stand, Volkswagen do Brasil will present models for the PCD (People with Disabilities) public, such as the automatic Polo Sense, Virtus Sense, Voyage, and Tiguan, in addition to the T-Cross Highline.

With a focus on this demographic, Volkswagen launched vehicles such as the New Polo, Virtus, Gol, and Voyage, all equipped with automatic transmissions. The automaker increased sales of vehicles for people with disabilities in the first five months of 2019, with a 45% increase compared to the same period last year. "Volkswagen is one of the fastest-growing automakers in the PcD segment. Having a presence at Reatech demonstrates the importance the brand places on this segment and underscores its commitment to the satisfaction of all customers. This is the New Volkswagen—a more agile, efficient, and innovative company that is even closer to its customers," says Leonardo Tosello, executive manager of Corporate Sales at Volkswagen do Brasil.

Representatives of the Volkswagen Dealership Network who are part of the Fleet Center Program (an exclusive service concept for direct sales, which includes people with disabilities), or who have a good sales volume in the segment, and professionals from Banco Volkswagen, who will offer financing plans with attractive terms and rates for this audience, will also be present at the event.

General Motors will present its Cruze, Cobalt, Equinox, Tracker, Onix, and Spin models with a wheelchair ramp. Some will be available for test drives. Dealerships and GM Financial will be present at the brand's booth for anyone who wants to purchase a Chevrolet at the fair. “In addition, we will have HR information for people with disabilities who are interested in working at GM,” says Kleber Cruz, the automaker's regional Fleet Sales manager.

Toyota, in turn, will exhibit the Toyota Yaris (hatchback and sedan), Corolla, and Prius models. In addition, there will be a lounge for test drive departures, where visitors will be able to drive the Yaris, Etios, Corolla, SW4, and Prius models, with the possibility of testing some of the cars equipped with pedal inversion and hand-controlled accelerator and brake adaptations.

16-year partners

At this edition of Reatech, automakers Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Jeep, GM, and Renault are present, in addition to companies that make adaptations for people with disabilities.

The automotive sector, which plays a crucial role at the trade show, has been participating in the event for 16 years. This underscores the automotive industry’s interest in people with disabilities, who purchase more than 7,000 cars per year. “Some visitors have even purchased cars directly from automakers” booths at recent editions, paying cash amounts exceeding R$ 30 mi,” says Rimantas Sipas, commercial director of Cipa Fiera Milano, the promoter and organizer of Reatech.
